James Bennett, Australia's leading, local library supplier known for advanced print and digital acquisitions and collection development services is looking for an innovative Business Implementation Officer.
 
We are dedicated to creating fast and leading edge service through our innovative business solutions, technical innovation and a tailor made online order management system. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our team.

In this role your knowledge of, and experience with, the library supply industry will enable you to successfully achieve desired business outcomes for our clients. This role demands a high level of business acumen; ability to lead, think creatively, pro-actively adapt to a changing environment, motivate, develop, inspire, and empower others. Your experience will include working on client projects from start to finish; identification and resolution of issues and risk management; as well as demonstrated strong analytical ability. 

You will be a problem solver – be able to identify business improvement opportunities, document them, suggest possible solutions. 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordination and management of client focused projects.
  • Relationship management with internal and external stakeholders and third parties.
  • Creation and management of Customer budgets and reporting.
  • Working with the sales team to improve outcomes.

Pre-requisites:

  • Thorough understanding of, and demonstrated experience with, library supply industry and the alternative products available in the industry. Minimum 3 years' experience required.
  • Demonstrated business knowledge and savviness. Ability to think outside the box, identifying and implementing solutions for challenging problems.
  • Full project lifecycle experience – from requirements through to business case, implementation and transition to BAU (Business As Usual).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with associated deadlines, driving simultaneous projects to completion on-time and within budget. 
  • Passionate about successful project outcomes.
  • Ability to take direction as well as work autonomously.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate strong focus on quality outcomes and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to establish goals, set clear expectations, prioritise activities, and follow through with timely execution. 
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills. 
  • Ability to advise clients and internal stakeholders on EDI and MARC best practices, providing guidance in defining requirements and business rules. 
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal:   
    • Excellent writing skills required for documentation of Formal Reports including strategic plans, business requirements, business cases, RFPs, and project plans (advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Excel and Project programs).  
    • Strong client-facing communication skills, able to present project status and other relevant information in format appropriate for people at differing levels of an organisation.

Tertiary qualifications in Management Information Systems, Library and Information Services or Business an advantage.
