Comic Con-versation 2017

29 June 2017

We love graphic novels at James Bennett so we are excited about Comic Con-versation 2017. It runs from the 10th-15th July. The Comic Con-versation Library Festival (CCV) is an avenue for the comics community to mingle with the library community through a diverse program of engagement, which includes workshops, live drawing sessions, panels and exhibitions. It is aimed at children, teens, and adults. Libraries participating this year include: Burwood, Fairfield, Liverpool, Ryde, Sutherland, and the Inner West Council Libraries of Ashfield, Leichhardt, and Marrickville.
Comic Con-versation (CCV) began in 2014 with an evening comic convention at Ashfield Library. In 2015, CCV organisers contacted other public libraries in Sydney to gauge interest in running a week-long comics festival. Six libraries came on board in 2015, fourteen libraries held comic events in 2016, and now in 2017, CCV has grown to include twenty libraries, making Comic Con-versation a truly Sydney-wide festival.
The aim of CCV is to promote the works of the local comics community and highlight the graphic novel collections held in libraries. More information can be found on Facebook.
