Profiling & Selection Staff Wanted

James Bennett sources content on behalf of academic and public libraries throughout Australia and NZ. Patron demand for current content is increasing and libraries are responding with growing investment in new titles in all formats including ebooks. We are seeking academic and trade booksellers to help facilitate this growth.

POSITION

The successful applicants will have knowledge of academic and/or books and trends and be responsible for the identification, sourcing and purchasing of titles that meet specific library requirements. Working closely with colleagues, the position is involved with the ongoing development of profiling methodologies and selection of materials on behalf of our library customers. The skill to identify suitable content and the ability to understand and match this to demographics and collection development policies will be highly valued.

PERSON

We are seeking experienced booksellers from publishing, retail or libraries. You may also apply if you have excellent general knowledge, frequent bookshops and libraries; have Office computer skills, and drive and motivation to achieve set outcomes. The ability to communicate effectively and liaise with libraries and publishers is highly desirable.

COMPENSATION

Salary and benefits commensurate with experience will be offered to the successful candidates. Office hours are Mon-Fri 9-5pm.
